Tournament Spectator Policy
“The Spectator Policy is to ensure that the integrity, honesty, respect, and sportsmanship, are fully integrated in our Chapter Tournaments. It’s very important that all spectators of our tournaments adhere to the Spectator policy.”
The Tampa Junior Tour encourages spectators and parents to attend tournaments. Spectators are expected to conduct themselves appropriately at all times. The Tampa Junior Tour reserves the right to suspend and/or ban any spectator from one or more events. Failure to comply with the following regulations may result in the immediate removal from the host facility and/or suspension of playing privileges from the Chapter Tournaments.
- All spectators are required to check-in with The First Tee Tournament Director at every event to sign the Tournament Spectator Policy prior to observing and player on the course.
- Spectators shall not give any advice to players during the round. Encouragement is always allowed. Anything that could possibly be construed as advice is not allowed.
First Offense: 2-stroke penalty, Second Offense: Disqualification

- Spectators may only help players search for golf balls. Please help spot balls for all players. Spectators are encouraged to watch each player’s shot closely and may assist searching for a lost ball during the 3 minute search period.
- A minimum distance of 30 yards must be maintained between the player and spectators in all circumstances. Exceptions: to help look for ball.
- Putting Green – Spectators must never be on the putting green surface & must maintain minimum distance of 30 yards.
- Spectator carts are allowed to be rented at the discretion of the host facility at a price determined solely by the host facility. The Tampa Junior Tour reserves the right to revoke a spectator’s privilege to use a cart. Spectator carts must stay on cart path at all times.
- HOW TO PROPERLLY FOLLOW A GROUP (where you should stand & walk):
- Follow your players from at least 30 yards and stay on the cart paths when available. You should not be in the fairway
- Stay to the side of the action and remain still and quiet while all players are playing.
- Do not lag behind the participants as this often delays the group behind.
- Move forward to the putting green when all shots have been completed.
- DISPUTES AND DISRUPTIONS: If you have an issue with another spectator and/or player, please inform the tournament director. PLEASE DO NOT attempt to solve the issue on your own. Yelling at or discouraging a junior golfer, including your own child, will NEVER be tolerated at any Tampa Junior Tour events. Insulting, intimidating, or communication with any player in a destructive manner will result in immediate removal from the golf course.
