Tournament Spectator Policy

Purpose:
The Spectator Policy ensures that integrity, honesty, respect, and sportsmanship are upheld at all Tampa Junior Tour events. All spectators are expected to follow these guidelines. Failure to comply may result in removal from the course and/or suspension from future events.

Check-In

  • All spectators must check in with the Tournament Director at each event and sign the Tournament Spectator Policy before observing play.

Conduct

  • Spectators may encourage players, but giving advice is strictly prohibited (USGA Rule 8-1).
    • 1st offense: 2-stroke penalty to the player
    • 2nd offense: player disqualification
  • Spectators may help search for golf balls, assisting all players during the 3-minute search period.
  • Maintain a minimum distance of 30 yards from all players at all times.
    • Exception: assisting in a ball search.
  • Putting greens: Spectators may not step on the green and must remain at least 30 yards away.

Spectator Carts

  • Allowed at the discretion of the host facility at a price set by the facility.
  • Carts must stay on cart paths at all times.
  • The Tampa Junior Tour reserves the right to revoke cart privileges if rules are not followed.

Following a Group

  • Remain at least 30 yards behind players, and stay on the cart path where available.
  • Stay to the side of the action, quiet and still while players are hitting.
  • Do not lag behind, which can delay groups behind you.
  • Move forward to the putting green only after all shots are completed.

Disputes and Disruptions

  • Any issues with spectators or players must be reported to the Tournament Director.
  • Do not attempt to resolve disputes on your own.
  • Yelling, intimidating, or disruptive behavior toward any junior golfer will not be tolerated and may result in immediate removal from the course.
