Eligibility & Age Divisions – Tampa Junior Tour

 

To participate in our tournaments, players must meet minimum scoring criteria based on their age group. Prior to competing for the first time, you will need to submit three scorecards via email to the tournament director that meet the requirements below. This is a one-time requirement—once completed, your child will remain eligible for all future 2026 events.

 

Scoring Requirements:

• Ages 13–14 and 15–18:

  • Two 18-hole scorecards of 110 or better from the designated tee box, OR

  • Three 9-hole scorecards of 55 or better, OR
  • Three scores of 40 or better from the Rogers Park Short Course
• Ages 12 & Under:
  • Three 9-hole scorecards of 55 or better, OR
  • Three scores of 40 or better from the Rogers Park Short Course
    (Please note: the 7–9 division has been merged into the 12 & under division.)

Who Can Play

• Open to amateur junior golfers ages 7–18.
• Players must not have completed high school and started college. (You may take college classes while still in high school, but once you graduate and attend college, you become ineligible.)
• Minimum age: 7 years old—no exceptions.

Age Determination

• Player age is determined as of April 1 (the start of the season).
• Players remain in that age division for the entire season.
• If a player has a birthday during the season and wishes to move up to the next age division, they may do so, but will forfeit all points earned in their previous division.

Conditional Status

• In the 13–14 and 15–18 divisions, exceptional younger players may be granted conditional status if they have proven themselves in other junior tournaments.
• Note: Once you move up an age division (other than via birthday promotion), you cannot move back down.
